Oasis Trails

Oasis Trails has been operating a hostel or ´albergue´ on the Camino de Santiago for 22 years. As a community of believers, we recently expanded our horizon and have been able to buy a monastery nearby. A wonderful and unique opportunity to offer pilgrims and seeking people, a place to rest, seek Jesus, participate in a new monastic rhythm of prayer and worship.

Help us carry out our mission: Jesus came closer and said to them, 'I have been given all power in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go out and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teach them always to do what I have told you. And do not forget this: I am always with you, until the end of time.'

About Jan and Annemieke

In 2011 we left The Netherlands and followed Gods call to Australia where we worked in a homestead environment with backpackers. A calling became stronger to provide a “home away from home” and offer a place for those seeking and wandering the earth. A place where they could be welcomed and learn about living the gospel, the truth of Jesus!

In 2016 God led us to Spain and the Camino de Santiago, a famous trail walked by thousands of pilgrims every year. Here we hope to further Gods Kingdom by running a hostel, ´albergue´ in Spanish and give pilgrims passing through a taste of the Kingdom of God. If people want more, our community can welcome them to participate in a communal life with God at the centre. This is where the monastery comes into the picture!

God has called us to pioneer this vision, our talents, giftings and experiences so far culminate in this project. From business management, to gardening, from worship, to hospitality, from Christ-centred community life to reaching the unreached with the good news of Jesus!

We have 2 daughters and 2 sons. Currently people from Italy and the USA are a part of our long term community.
